Get the accounts that liked an Instagram post

See who liked an Instagram post, up to about 2,000 accounts in one call, with username, name, avatar and verified badge, plus the full like count. 50 credits.

To see who liked an Instagram post, call GET /v1/instagram/post/likers with the post's url. One call returns the accounts that liked it, each with username, display name, avatar and verified badge, plus the post's full like count. It costs 50 credits. A post with a few hundred likes comes back whole. A bigger one stops at about 1,000 to 2,000 likers however many likes it has, with no further pages: in our tests on 2026-10-14, a post with 1,309,613 likes returned 1,999 likers. Meta's Instagram Graph API has no endpoint that lists who liked a post.

Cost

50 credits per call. There are no further pages, so one post costs 50 credits. Asking for the same post again within 6 hours is answered from the shared cache for 2 credits. Failed calls and empty results are free.

How do I find the post URL?

Use the post's own link, in either form: https://www.instagram.com/p/CnpPou9hWqq/ or https://www.instagram.com/reel/…/. In the app, tap the share icon on the post and copy the link.

If you want the likers of an account's recent posts, GET /v1/instagram/profile/posts lists them first, and each post it returns carries its url.

Make the request

cURL
curl -G "https://api.insightsocial.app/v1/instagram/post/likers" \
  --data-urlencode "url=https://www.instagram.com/p/CnpPou9hWqq/" \
  -H "x-api-key: $INSIGHTSOCIAL_API_KEY"

What comes back

A real response from 2026-10-14, shortened: one liker instead of 903, long URLs cut, and the liker's account replaced with a placeholder.

FieldWhat it holds
data.items[].authorOne account that liked the post in the shared author shape: numeric ID, username, display name, avatar, verified badge, profile URL.
data.totalThe post's full like count. 1,390,077 here, against 903 likers returned.
data.truncatedtrue when fewer likers came back than the post has likes, so the list was cut short.
paginationhas_more is false and next_cursor is null: everything you can get comes in one call. page_size is how many likers came back.
unavailableFields this endpoint cannot fill: followers, following, posts_count and private are null, which means unknown, not zero.

What are the limits?

  • The full list only for small posts. Past a few hundred likes you get about 1,000 to 2,000 likers, and there is no cursor to ask for more, so you cannot walk the full list of a popular post. An older post can return fewer: the 2023 post in the example returned 903 likers, and 737 on a second call the same day. What we measured on 2026-10-14:

    Likes on the postLikers returned
    164148
    547547
    1,132999
    5,967999
    59,8041,000
    88,4881,997
    455,9931,999
    1,309,6131,999
    1,390,071 (posted 2023)903, then 737
  • No profile counts. Follower, following and post counts, and whether the account is private, are null. Pass a username to GET /v1/instagram/profile (10 credits) when you need them.

  • Display names can be missing. In our test, display_name was null on 71 of the 903 likers. Use the username as the key.

  • Absence proves nothing. On a post with more likes than came back, an account missing from the list may still have liked it.

What can I build with it?

  • Audience snapshots. Look at who engages with a post: how many likers are verified, which accounts recur across a creator's posts.
  • Lead and creator discovery. Likers of a niche post are people interested in that topic. Enrich the ones you care about with GET /v1/instagram/profile.
  • Engagement checks. Compare the likers you get against the like count and the comment section to judge whether engagement looks organic.
