Where the Instagram Scraper Works

Open any of these Instagram pages and the extension detects it automatically — no URLs to paste, no configuration

Profiles

Open any public Instagram profile and export its posts — captions, likes, comments, Reels play counts, pinned flags, audio tracks, timestamps — or grab the creator card with follower counts and bio in one click.

Reels & Audio Tracks

Open a creator's Reels tab and export their full reel list with the play count on each one — the profile grid only holds the reels they cross-posted. Sound pages and the instagram.com/reels discovery feed are separate sources of their own.

Hashtags & Keyword Search

Search any hashtag or keyword and export every matching post. A second phase can visit each author automatically and pull their full profile — follower counts, bio, and bio links — turning one hashtag into a creator list.

Followers & Following Lists

Open the followers or following list of any public account and export every member — username, full name, verified badge, profile link — then filter by Mutuals, Following, or Not following back.

Single Posts & Reels

Open any post or Reel and pull its full comment section: every comment and nested reply, GIF comments, commenter usernames, avatars, verified badges, like counts, and timestamps.

Home Feed & Explore

Scrape your own feed or the Explore page to snapshot what the algorithm is surfacing — useful for trend tracking and content research in your niche.

Emails from Bio Links

After any profile scrape, run enrichment on the collected bio links (Linktree, Beacons, personal sites) to surface publicly listed emails, phone numbers, and business links — no guessing, only what creators publish.

Instagram Scraper FAQ

Is the Instagram scraper free?

Yes. Scraping is unlimited on every plan — you can collect unlimited posts, followers, or comments in a session and browse all of it for free. Only exporting is metered: the free plan includes 500 export credits per month, one credit per exported row. If you need more, Pro starts at $7.99/month billed yearly (or $9.99 month-to-month) with 10,000 export credits per month.

How do I scrape Instagram followers?

Install the InsightSocial Chrome extension, open any public Instagram profile, and pick Followers (or Following) in the side panel. The extension opens the list, scrolls it for you, and captures every account — username, full name, verified badge, and profile link. When it finishes, filter by Mutuals, Following, or Not following back, and export to Excel, CSV, or JSON in one click.

Can I scrape Instagram without the API?

Yes — that is exactly what InsightSocial does. The official Instagram Graph API requires a Meta app review, only covers business accounts you manage, and caps hashtag search at 30 hashtags per week. The extension needs none of that: it works inside your own browser on the pages you can already see, with no API key, no app review, and no per-endpoint quotas.

Can I get emails from Instagram profiles?

Publicly listed ones, yes. Most creators put their contact details behind the link in their bio — a Linktree, Beacons page, or personal site. After a profile or hashtag scrape, InsightSocial can visit those bio links automatically and extract any publicly published emails, phone numbers, and business links. It only surfaces what creators have chosen to publish — there is no email guessing or private-data access.

What Instagram data can I extract?

For posts and Reels: caption, likes, comment counts, Reels play counts, post type (Reel, carousel, photo), pinned flag, audio track and artist, timestamp, and post URL, plus the author’s username, full name, verified badge, and profile picture. For followers and following: username, full name, verified badge, and profile link. For comments: comment text, nested replies, GIF comments, commenter usernames, avatars, like counts, and timestamps. For profiles: follower and following counts, bio, bio links, and external URL.

Can I scrape Instagram Reels and their play counts?

Yes. Open a creator's Reels tab (instagram.com/username/reels) and pick Reels + Play Counts. Plays only exist on that tab — the profile grid omits them — while captions and audio tracks only exist on the grid, so the extension walks both and joins them into one row per reel. That also means you get the creator's complete reel list rather than the fraction they cross-posted to their profile. Sound pages and the instagram.com/reels discovery feed are supported as separate sources.

Can I scrape Instagram comments and replies?

Yes. Open any post or Reel and pick the Comments scrape type. With "Include replies" on, the extension pulls every reply nested under every parent comment, so the full conversation tree survives export — including GIF-only comments, which are captured with their media URL instead of landing as empty rows.

Can I scrape Instagram without logging in?

Not realistically — Instagram hides almost everything from logged-out visitors, so any tool that promises full logged-out scraping will hit walls within a few pages. InsightSocial works inside your own browser session: you log in to Instagram normally and the extension reads what the page already shows you. You never share your password or credentials with us or any third-party server.

Is scraping Instagram legal?

Collecting publicly visible data for research and analysis is generally permitted in most jurisdictions, but you are responsible for complying with Meta’s Terms of Service and the laws that apply to you, especially around personal data. InsightSocial only captures what is publicly shown on the pages you visit — it never accesses private accounts, DMs, or hidden data.

Need to scrape other platforms?

The same extension also scrapes TikTok, Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Threads, YouTube, Reddit, and Pinterest.
