Where the Facebook Scraper Works

Open any of these Facebook pages and the extension detects it automatically — no URLs to paste, no configuration

Groups

Extract every post from a Facebook group you can view — author, text, reactions, comment and share counts, plus Facebook’s 1–2 highlighted comments per post. Works with Facebook’s own filters, so you can scrape "newest first" or a filtered view exactly as you see it.

Group Search

Search inside a group for a keyword, then export only the matching posts — ideal for mining months of discussions about one topic.

Pages

Capture a brand or competitor page’s post history with engagement numbers to benchmark content performance over time.

Profiles

Export the public timeline of a profile — posts, dates, engagement — for creator research or lead qualification.

Single Post + Comments

Open any post and extract the full comment thread, including replies, with commenter names and timestamps.

Post Reactions

Open any post and export everyone who reacted — name, profile URL, and which reaction they left (Like, Love, Care, Haha, Wow, Sad, Angry), plus mutual friends and follow status.

Page & Profile Followers

Export the follower list of any Facebook page or public profile — name, profile URL, avatar, verified status — with auto-scroll of the /followers tab.

Page & Profile Following

Export the list of accounts a page or profile follows — often the clearest public signal of partnerships, agencies, and sister brands.

Search Results & Home Feed

Run a Facebook search or scroll your own feed and capture the posts as structured rows instead of screenshots.

Facebook Scraper FAQ

Is the Facebook scraper free?

Yes. Extraction is unlimited on every plan — you can collect unlimited posts or comments in a session and browse all of it for free. Only exporting is metered: the free plan includes 500 export credits per month, one credit per exported row. If you need more, Pro starts at $7.99/month billed yearly (or $9.99 month-to-month) with 10,000 export credits per month.

Do I need a Facebook API key or developer account?

No. The extension reads the same data Facebook already sends to your browser while you scroll, so there is no API key, no app review, and no Graph API permissions to request. Install the Chrome extension, open Facebook, and start extracting.

What Facebook data can I extract?

Posts from groups, pages, profiles, search results, and your home feed — including author, post text, reactions, comment and share counts, timestamps, and post URLs. Every posts scrape also captures up to two of Facebook’s highlighted comments per post, when available. You can also open a single post and extract its full comment thread with replies or the full list of people who reacted to it, or open the /followers and /following tabs of any page or public profile and export those lists too.

Can I extract posts from private Facebook groups?

The extension captures whatever your own browser can display. If you are a member of a group, you can extract its posts just like a public group. It never bypasses Facebook’s access controls — content you cannot see cannot be extracted.

What export formats are supported?

Excel (.xlsx), CSV, and JSON — one click each. Results also sync to your web dashboard, so you can browse, filter, and re-export them later from any device.

Is extracting Facebook data legal?

Collecting data you can legitimately view, for research and analysis, is generally permitted in most jurisdictions, but you are responsible for complying with Facebook’s Terms of Service and the laws that apply to you, especially around personal data. InsightSocial only captures what is shown on the pages you visit.

Will Facebook ban my account?

The extension behaves like a normal reader: it scrolls the page in your own browser session and never performs actions on your behalf — no auto-liking, joining, or posting. Keeping extraction volumes reasonable makes the activity look like ordinary browsing, but as with any tool, moderation is wise.

Need to scrape other platforms?

The same extension also scrapes Instagram, TikTok, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Threads, YouTube, Reddit, and Pinterest.
