How do I scrape Twitter followers?
Install the InsightSocial Chrome extension, open the profile on x.com and click into its Followers tab. The side panel recognises the page. Pick 50, 100 or 500 and click Scrape. Each row has the username, display name, avatar, bio, verified flags and follower count. X often stops serving the list after a few dozen accounts, so a run can end early; the side panel shows how many arrived. Export to Excel, CSV, JSON or Google Sheets.
Is the Twitter scraper free?
Yes. Scraping is free and unlimited. Exporting is free for 500 rows a month; Pro exports 10,000 rows a month for $9.99 ($7.99 a month billed yearly). A row you already exported is free to export again.
Do I need a Twitter/X API key?
No. The official X API is pay per use with no free tier, but the extension does not use it. It reads the data X already shows in your logged-in browser. No developer account, no API key.
What Twitter data can I extract?
Posts from a profile, search, hashtag, List, Community or your home feed (text, likes, reposts, replies, views, media, post date); the replies under a single post; the posts you have liked; and the accounts in a followers or following list. Exporting a profile’s own details (bio, join date, counts) is not available yet.
Can I keep working in another tab while it runs?
Yes for profiles, followers, replies, Lists, your feed and your likes: they keep going in a background tab. Search, hashtag and Community runs pause until you bring their tab back to the front.
What export formats are supported?
Excel (.xlsx), CSV and JSON, or a direct send to Google Sheets. Results also sync to your InsightSocial dashboard, so you can filter them and re-export them later.
Is scraping Twitter legal?
Collecting publicly visible data for research and analysis is generally allowed, but you are responsible for following X’s Terms of Service and the laws that apply to you, especially around personal data. InsightSocial only captures what the pages you visit show you.
Will Twitter ban my account?
It is unlikely at normal volumes, but no tool can promise it. The extension never posts, likes, follows or messages for you, and reads at a reading pace. Keep runs to a sensible size.
