What it is for
A profile's comment list is public: anyone signed in to Reddit can scroll it. This tool turns that list into rows you can sort, filter and keep. People use it to:
- archive their own history before deleting an account or leaving a community;
- moderate: review a reported account's recent comments in one sheet, with the subreddit and thread of each;
- research how a brand, public figure or bot account takes part across communities over time;
- audit a brand account: see what your company's own Reddit account has said, and where.
It reads only what the profile shows. It does not recover deleted comments, and it is not a way to find out who someone is.
To export a whole thread with its nesting instead, use the Reddit Comment Scraper. If you write code, the tutorial How to Scrape Reddit Posts and Comments with Python covers user profiles through the InsightSocial API. All Reddit scrapers are on the Reddit scraper hub.
