Yes. The extension reads the comments in your own browser, so there is no Google Cloud project, no API key and no daily quota. If you do want code, the InsightSocial API returns YouTube comments as JSON with one key.

Yes. Reply threads, including "Show more replies", are opened automatically. Each reply is its own row and carries the ID of the comment it answers, so you can rebuild the conversation.

A run collects 100, 250 or 500 comments, whichever you pick, and replies count toward that number. It ends sooner if the video has no more comments to load. In our October 2026 test, a 500-comment run on a video with about 1,800 comments returned 500 rows with the tab in the background.

Yes. You can work in another tab while it runs. Keep the video's tab open until it finishes.

Yes. Each row has an Author Is Creator column for comments posted by the video's own channel, and a verified flag for verified channels. Filter on either in your spreadsheet. The export does not show which comments the creator hearted.

Yes. Load the CSV into a spreadsheet or a sentiment tool, or the JSON into a Python script. Each row carries the comment's likes, so you can weight a comment by how many people agreed with it.

It only reads the comments your browser can already see, at a reading pace, and never posts, likes or subscribes. You don't share your password with InsightSocial.

Comments on public videos are public, and collecting them for research or audience analysis is common practice. You are still bound by YouTube's Terms of Service and privacy laws such as GDPR. Don't publish commenters' names, and don't use the data to contact or target people.
