How it works
- 1
Open a page with reviews or comments
A company, a place, a product, a game or a thread. The side panel names what it found there.
- 2
Allow the site once, then press Start
The first time you use a site, Chrome asks you to let InsightSocial read it. The run reads every page of reviews or comments the site serves, and you can stop whenever you like and keep what it has.
- 3
Export from your dashboard
Rows sync to your InsightSocial dashboard as they come in. Filter them there, then export to CSV, Excel, JSON or Google Sheets.
A dataset, not a screenshot
Every row keeps what you need to analyse it later: who wrote it, when, where in the thread it sits, and how the site rated it.
- Replies keep their depth and parent, so a question and its answer stay together
- A business’s reply to a review is its own row, labelled as an owner reply
- Stars, votes and helpful counts sit in separate columns and never share one
- Dates stay as the site wrote them where it gives no exact time, so nothing is invented
Good to know before you start
- One page per run: the thread, product, place or company you have open.
- Very large pages stop at a time limit, and the side panel says where it stopped. You keep everything collected up to then.
- It reads what the site shows you. Where a site wants you signed in, like Google Maps, Amazon or Blind, sign in there first.
- It only reads. It never posts, rates, votes or replies on your behalf.
Review scraper FAQ
10 of them: reviews on Trustpilot, Google Maps, Amazon, Etsy, Steam and Product Hunt, and discussions on Hacker News, Quora, Blind and Notion. Comments on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, LinkedIn, Threads and X have their own scrapers in the same extension.
Yes. One InsightSocial extension covers the social platforms and these sites, with the same account, dashboard and exports.
InsightSocial reads these sites only when you use them, so it asks Chrome for access to a site the first time you scrape it there, and Chrome’s prompt names that site. You can withdraw access any time from the extension’s settings in Chrome.
Scraping and reading your results in the dashboard are unlimited on every plan. Only exporting uses credits: the free plan includes 500 export credits a month, one per exported row, and a row you already exported is free to export again. Pro adds 10,000 a month from $7.99/month billed yearly.
Sites count reviews and comments they no longer show, such as deleted or hidden ones, and some stop handing out more after a point. The extension collects what the site actually serves and shows its own count, so you can see the gap.
Every review on the page, in one file
Open the page, press Start, export from your dashboard.
