InsightSocial vs Outscraper
Outscraper is a cloud service billed per 1,000 reviews, built for bulk lists of places and an API. InsightSocial is a browser extension billed per exported row, built for the company, place or product you have open.
The short answer
Outscraper is a cloud service that bills reviews per 1,000: Google Maps reviews are free for 500 a month, then $3 per 1,000. InsightSocial is a Chrome extension that exports the reviews of the one place, company or product you have open, at a flat $9.99 a month for 10,000 rows. Under about 3,800 reviews a month, Outscraper costs less.
Outscraper's pricing page (as archived in June 2026) also lists $1 per 1,000 after 100,000, with bulk extraction, an API and Zapier. That makes it the right tool for review data across hundreds of places or a pipeline. InsightSocial covers the Trustpilot company, Google Maps place, Amazon product, Etsy shop or Steam game in front of you, metered per exported row: free up to 500 rows a month, Pro $9.99 for 10,000, Studio $49 for 150,000. It needs no task setup for a page you are already looking at; for bulk lists, an API or work that runs without your browser, Outscraper is the better buy.

Outscraper's live site blocks automated visitors, so we could not read its pricing page directly in October 2026. The Outscraper prices above are from Outscraper's own pricing page as archived by the Internet Archive on 17 June 2026, and its Trustpilot page as archived on 10 December 2025; check outscraper.com/pricing for today's rates. What the comparison comes down to: at $3 per 1,000 after the free 500, 10,000 Google Maps reviews a month costs about $28.50 on Outscraper and $9.99 on InsightSocial Pro, and 150,000 costs about $348.50 on Outscraper (500 free, 99,500 at $3 per 1,000, 50,000 at $1 per 1,000) and $49 on Studio. Between 500 and about 3,800 reviews a month, Outscraper's per-review price is the cheaper of the two. On InsightSocial an owner reply is a row of its own, so a month's rows cover somewhat fewer reviews when you keep the replies. Outscraper's real advantage is not the price but the shape: it takes lists, runs in the cloud and has an API. InsightSocial also sells one-time packs, from 250 rows for $2 to 25,000 for $39, and a row you already exported is free to export again.
Check Outscraper’s current pricingPer review versus per month
Outscraper charges for every review it returns, after a monthly free tier. That is fair and predictable when you know your volume. InsightSocial charges for rows you export, on a monthly allowance, and scraping or browsing results costs nothing. The difference shows up in two places: exploring (you can run a page, look at the results and export only what you need) and re-exporting (a row you already paid for is free to download again in another format).
- Up to 500 reviews a month: free on both
- Between 500 and about 3,800 a month: Outscraper's per-review price is lower than Pro's $9.99
- Around 10,000 Google Maps reviews a month: about $28.50 on Outscraper, $9.99 on Pro
- Around 150,000 a month: about $348.50 on Outscraper, $49 on Studio
- Millions of reviews across thousands of places: Outscraper's $1 per 1,000 tier and bulk input are the better fit
The page you have open versus a task
Outscraper is task-based: you give it place IDs, URLs or a search, it runs in the cloud, and you download the file. InsightSocial works on the page in front of you: open a Trustpilot company, a Google Maps place or an Amazon product, click Scrape, and the reviews land in your dashboard. For research where you are already browsing the pages, that removes the setup step; for a list of 400 locations, it is the wrong tool.
- Google Maps: InsightSocial needs you signed in to Google and the tab in front, up to 5,000 reviews per place
- Amazon: sign in to Amazon; up to about 1,200 reviews per product across star filters and sorts
- Trustpilot: no account needed; filter splitting gets past the 200-review signed-out limit, though very large companies often stop short
- Steam, Hacker News, Quora, Blind and Notion: covered by InsightSocial, not by Outscraper
What InsightSocial does not do
To save you a trial: InsightSocial has no list-of-URLs input for review sites, no API for them, no scheduling for them, and no Google Maps place search. It does not analyse sentiment. It does not cover Google Play, Tripadvisor, G2, Capterra, Yelp or Booking. If any of those is the job, Outscraper or another cloud service is the right choice.
When Outscraper is the better choice
Outscraper is built for volume and automation, and for those jobs it beats a browser extension. Choose Outscraper when:
- You need reviews for many places, products or companies at once, from a list or a search
- You want an API, or Zapier and HubSpot integrations, to move reviews into other systems
- Jobs have to run in the cloud without your browser open
- You pull hundreds of thousands of reviews a month, where its $1 per 1,000 tier applies
- You need Google Play, Tripadvisor or other sites InsightSocial does not cover
Why teams switch from Outscraper
What you get when the scrape runs in your own browser
A flat monthly price
Free up to 500 exported rows a month, Pro $9.99 for 10,000, Studio $49 for 150,000.
No task to set up
Open the company, place or product and click Scrape. The side panel names what it found.
Replies as rows
Owner, seller and developer replies sit in their own rows under the review they answer.
CSV, Excel, JSON or Sheets
Every run lands in your dashboard first, so you can filter before you export.
Background runs
Most review sites keep going while you work in another tab. Google Maps needs its tab in front.
Free re-exports
A row you already exported is free to download again, in any format.
Frequently Asked Questions
Outscraper's pricing page, as archived on 17 June 2026, lists Google Maps reviews free for the first 500 a month, $3 per 1,000 from 501 to 100,000, and $1 per 1,000 after that. Its live site blocks automated checks, so confirm today's rates on outscraper.com.
It depends on volume. Up to 500 reviews a month both are free, and between 500 and about 3,800 Outscraper's per-review price is lower. Above that, a flat plan costs less: InsightSocial Pro is $9.99 for 10,000 exported rows a month and Studio $49 for 150,000, covering Google Maps, Trustpilot, Amazon, Etsy, Steam and Product Hunt. For hundreds of thousands of reviews across many places from a list, Outscraper's bulk input and $1 per 1,000 tier are the better fit.
No. Each run reads the place you have open, up to 5,000 reviews, with you signed in to Google and the tab in front. For many places from a list or a search, use Outscraper or another cloud tool.
Not for review sites. InsightSocial's API covers social platforms and Quora, not Google Maps, Trustpilot or Amazon reviews.
Signed out, Trustpilot shows 10 pages of 20 reviews per filter. InsightSocial goes through each language and star rating separately to reach further; in our runs in October 2026 a company with 20,624 reviews returned 4,994. Several Apify actors also say they get past the 200-review limit.
Yes. Since version 4.7.0 the extension exports Trustpilot, Google Maps, Amazon, Etsy, Steam and Product Hunt reviews, plus Hacker News, Quora, Blind and Notion.
