App Store Review Scraper

InsightSocial's App Store Review Scraper is a free Chrome extension that downloads an app's App Store reviews to Excel, CSV, JSON or Google Sheets, newest first. Each row holds the stars, the review title and text, the reviewer, the date and whether it was edited, with the developer's reply on its own row. Open the app's page in the country store you want and click Scrape.

How it works

From install to file in four steps.

  1. 01

    Add it to Chrome

Install InsightSocial from the Chrome Web Store. It is free and asks for no card.

  2. 02

    Pin the icon

Click the puzzle piece in Chrome's toolbar and pin InsightSocial. That icon opens the side panel.

  3. 03

    Open the app, click Scrape

Open the app's page on apps.apple.com, in the country store you want. Allow the App Store the first time Chrome asks, then click Scrape.

  4. 04

    Export

Download Excel, CSV or JSON, or send the rows to Google Sheets. Every run stays in your account to re-open later.

What you get

One row per review, newest first: the stars, the review's title and text, the reviewer's name, the date, and whether the reviewer edited it. When the developer answered, the reply is its own row directly under that review. Each run also records the app's name, developer, genre, average rating, rating count and how its ratings split across one to five stars.

It works on any app's page on the App Store (apps.apple.com/{country}/app/…) and collects up to the 2,000 newest reviews per run. Reviews belong to a country store, so the US page and the Vietnam page of the same app list different reviews; open the page for the country you care about, and run each country separately to compare them.

The App Store shows no helpful votes and no link per review, so those columns are not in the file. The same app on Android is on the Google Play Review Scraper, and every site is on the review scraper hub.

App Store review scraper vs other ways to get App Store reviews

The App Store has no export button, and Apple's own routes either stop at a few hundred reviews or cover only your own apps:

For your own app, the App Store Connect API is the complete record, and for many apps or countries on a schedule a cloud service is the better fit. For a competitor's app, the extension reaches four times further back than Apple's public feed, keeps each developer reply under its review, and needs no code.
