Best Google Maps Review Scrapers (2026): Prices and Limits

For Google Maps reviews of many places, cloud tools win: Apify's Google Maps Reviews Scraper costs $0.60 per 1,000 reviews on Apify's free plan, Outscraper listed 500 reviews a month free then $3 per 1,000 (archived June 2026 pricing), and the open-source gosom/google-maps-scraper is free on your own machine; for the reviews of one place you are looking at, a Chrome extension such as InsightSocial needs no setup (up to 5,000 reviews per run, though on very large places a run usually ends at a few hundred of the newest; free up to 500 exported rows a month); and Google's own Places API returns at most 5 reviews per place, so it is not an export route. Owners can list their own locations' reviews through the Business Profile API, once Google approves their access.

Updated October 2026. We make InsightSocial, so we are not neutral. This list starts with Google's own routes, includes the open-source options, and says plainly that cloud tools are the better choice for bulk work. We have not benchmarked the other tools: their prices and limits are what their own pricing pages, Apify listings, GitHub repositories and Chrome Web Store listings said when we checked in October 2026.

What makes Google reviews hard to export

  • Sign-in. Signed out, Google Maps shows only a handful of reviews per place. Signed in, it shows the full list. Browser tools need you signed in; cloud tools handle it on their side.
  • Infinite scroll. Reviews load as the panel scrolls, and the page slows down as the list grows.
  • Relative dates. Google shows "3 months ago", not a date.
  • Star-only reviews. Many reviews have no text. A tool that drops them skews your average.
  • The official API's cap. Google's Places API reference says: "A maximum of 5 reviews can be returned."

How we put this list together

We looked at the tools that rank for Google reviews export and scraper searches, the Apify actors with the most users, and the open-source projects with the most GitHub stars. For each we read its own pricing page, listing or README in October 2026. We did not run other vendors' tools, so this list does not rank them by speed or completeness.

1. Google's own routes: Business Profile API and Places API

  • Business Profile API (owners). Its reviews.list method returns the reviews of a location your Google account manages, up to 50 per request with a page token for the next page. It is free, but Google must approve your access request first (it asks for a verified profile active for at least 60 days), and you need a Google Cloud project and a developer. Google's Business Profile spreadsheet download covers business information, not reviews.
  • Places API (any place). Place details include reviews, but at most 5, sorted by relevance. Good for showing a few reviews on a website; not an export.

Best for: owners of many locations with engineering help. Step-by-step options are in how to export Google reviews.

2. Apify Google Maps Reviews Scraper

The most used review actor on Apify (by compass), with about 7,900 users in the last 30 days when we checked. It takes place URLs or IDs and returns reviews with ratings, text, dates and owner responses. Pricing on its listing: $0.60 per 1,000 reviews on Apify's free plan, falling to $0.15 on Apify's top tier, plus a tiny per-run fee. Apify's free plan includes $5 of usage a month, which at that price covers several thousand reviews.

Best for: bulk review pulls across many places, with runs you can schedule, monitor and call through Apify's API.

3. Outscraper

A cloud service with a Google Maps Reviews Scraper and API. Its pricing page, as archived in June 2026, lists the first 500 reviews a month free, $3 per 1,000 from 501 to 100,000, and $1 per 1,000 after that, with API access on the paid tiers. Its pages also describe bulk extraction, Zapier and HubSpot integrations. The live site blocks automated visitors, so we could not re-read it in October 2026.

Best for: agencies and lead-generation teams pulling places and their reviews in bulk. See our Outscraper comparison.

4. SerpApi Google Maps Reviews API

SerpApi returns a place's reviews as JSON through its Google Maps Reviews API: 8 results on the first page, then up to 20 per page. Its free plan includes 250 searches a month; Starter is $25 a month for 1,000. Each request is a search, so a place with 2,000 reviews takes about 100 requests.

Best for: developers who already use SerpApi for search results and want reviews from the same API.

5. gosom/google-maps-scraper (open source)

The most starred open-source Google Maps scraper we found: about 6,500 stars on GitHub, MIT licence, updated in September 2026. It scrapes places from Google Maps searches on your own machine, and its extra-reviews option collects up to about 300 reviews per place. Other open-source options: gaspa93/googlemaps-scraper (about 530 stars, GPL-3.0) and georgekhananaev/google-reviews-scraper-pro (about 340 stars, MIT).

Best for: developers who want a free, self-hosted bulk scraper and can run a command-line tool.

6. HasData

HasData sells no-code scrapers and APIs, including a Google Maps Reviews API priced from $2.46 per 1,000 requests down to $0.69 at higher volumes, with plans from $49 a month (200,000 credits) and a free tier of 1,000 credits (checked October 2026). Its Google Maps reviews page mentions webhooks.

Best for: developers who want a metered API with webhooks.

7. ScrapeHero Cloud

ScrapeHero Cloud's Google Reviews scraper runs in the cloud with scheduled runs and delivery to Dropbox, S3 or Google Drive. The free plan gives 400 credits once (they do not renew), then plans start at $5 a month for 4,500 credits; its FAQ says 100 reviews of one listing use 11 page credits (checked October 2026).

Best for: low-cost scheduled pulls with files delivered to cloud storage.

8. InsightSocial: the place you have open

InsightSocial's Google Maps Review Scraper is a Chrome extension. Sign in to Google, open a place on google.com/maps, click Scrape, and the extension opens the Reviews tab, sorts it newest first and scrolls it for you, keeping each owner reply as its own row and star-only reviews as rows with empty text.

In our own runs in October 2026, a place with 89 reviews returned all 89 plus 87 owner replies in 10 seconds; a very large place returned 640 to 720 reviews in two and a half minutes, because the Maps page slows as the list grows and the run stops at a time limit. The hard cap is 5,000 reviews per run.

Price: scraping is free; exporting uses one credit per row. Free includes 500 rows a month, Pro $9.99 a month (or $7.99 billed yearly) includes 10,000, Studio $49 includes 150,000. Re-exporting a row is free.

Limits: one place per run; no search across many places, no list of URLs, no API, no scheduling for Google Maps. It needs you signed in to Google, and the tab must stay in front while it runs, unlike most other sites it supports.

Best for: checking the reviews of a few places you are already looking at (a competitor, a supplier, a location you might buy), with the owner's replies, in a spreadsheet.

9. ExportComments

ExportComments has a Google reviews export in its web app: paste a place URL and download a file. Free returns up to 100 results per export and 50 exports a month; Personal is $23 once for 3 days at up to 5,000 per export; Premium is $45 a month at up to 50,000 per export (checked October 2026).

Best for: an occasional export of one place.

10. Adlicio

Adlicio pulls Google Maps reviews as part of its ad-research product, charged in credits per URL. Its All Access plan, which covers its review sources, is $49.99 a month for 250 credits (checked October 2026).

Best for: marketers who want review quotes turned into ad angles. See our Adlicio comparison.

11. Instant Data Scraper and other generic extensions

Instant Data Scraper (free, 1,000,000 users on its Chrome Web Store listing) can read the reviews panel as far as you get it to load, but it guesses columns from the page and does not know review fields. Lead-generation extensions such as Maps Scraper & Leads Extractor (100,000 users) are built for business listings; we did not confirm that they export review text.

Best for: a rough grab when nothing else is set up.

FAQ

What is the best free Google Maps review scraper? For bulk, the open-source gosom/google-maps-scraper is free on your own machine, and Apify's free $5 a month covers several thousand reviews with its Google Maps Reviews Scraper. For one place in your browser, InsightSocial's free plan exports 500 rows a month.

Is there a Chrome extension that scrapes Google Maps reviews? Yes, but only signed in: Google Maps shows a handful of reviews to signed-out visitors. InsightSocial reads up to 5,000 reviews of the place you open, with the tab in front. Generic extensions such as Instant Data Scraper can grab what is loaded on screen.

Why does the Google Places API only return 5 reviews? That is the API's documented limit. Owners use the Business Profile API for their own locations; everyone else uses a scraper.

Can I scrape Google reviews without signing in? Cloud tools and APIs do not need your Google account. In a browser, Google Maps shows only a few reviews to signed-out visitors, so browser tools need you signed in.

Which tool is cheapest for a lot of Google reviews? Among the hosted tools we checked, Apify's Google Maps Reviews Scraper, from $0.60 per 1,000 down to $0.15 on its top tier, and Outscraper's $1 per 1,000 after 100,000 reviews (archived June 2026 pricing). For up to 10,000 rows a month at a flat price, InsightSocial Pro is $9.99.
