Does Facebook have an API?
Yes. The Graph API and Pages API let apps read and manage data that users or Page admins grant access to. Public Page data needs an approved feature, and separate APIs cover the Ad Library and researcher access.
To read public Facebook data you do not own, a public-data API is the usual route. InsightSocial has 29 Facebook endpoints from 10 credits a call, with one key and no app review.

The official Facebook APIs
| API | What it covers | Who can get it | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pages API (Graph API) | Managing Page settings and content. With Page Public Content Access, reading public Page posts, comments and metadata. | The app user must own or have a task on the Page. Every Page permission needs App Review; Page Public Content Access also needs Business Verification. | Not published |
| Ad Library API (ads_archive) | Search of archived ads, by country and special ad category (political and issue, housing, employment, financial). | A Graph API access token; ad_reached_countries is required. | Not published |
| Meta Content Library API | Public Facebook posts from Pages, groups, events and verified or large public profiles. | Researchers at academic or not-for-profit institutions, through Meta Research Tools Manager. | Free for approved researchers |
