Does Threads have an API?
Yes. Meta's Threads API publishes and reads posts, manages replies and reads insights for users who authorize your app. Searching public posts and looking up other profiles need approved permissions.
To read public Threads data you do not own, a public-data API is the usual route. InsightSocial has 6 Threads endpoints from 10 credits a call, with one key and no app review.

The official Threads APIs
| API | What it covers | Who can get it | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Threads API | Publishing posts and replies, reading the user's own posts, managing replies, insights. | A Meta app; users grant permissions such as threads_basic and threads_content_publish. | Not published |
| Keyword Search | Public Threads posts by keyword or topic tag. | Needs the threads_keyword_search permission; without approval it searches only the user's own posts. | Not published |
| Profile Discovery | Public profile fields and counts for other public profiles. | Needs threads_profile_discovery; standard access looks up only four Meta accounts. | Not published |
